Users and roles
Invite your team, choose what each person can manage, and remove access when someone leaves.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Primary admin | The organization's owner (whoever signed up). Everything an admin can do, plus: manage every user, reactivate users, deactivate admins, hand ownership to another admin, decide who can change favorites, and contact support from Settings. |
| Admin | Works with all records. Opens the Business, Invoice, Estimate, Users and (for jewellery organizations) Jewellery tabs in Settings, adds users, edits users and other admins, and deactivates standard users. Can't edit or deactivate the primary admin, or deactivate another admin. |
| User | Works with all business records: customers, items, estimates, invoices, payments, expenses and reports. In Settings, opens only General. |
Add a user
- Step 1: Go to Settings > Users and add a user.
- Step 2: Enter their name, email, username, role and a temporary password. The username starts as the first part of their email; you can change it now, but not later.
- Step 3: Biththi emails them a link to verify their address.
- Step 4: They open the link, enter the temporary password, and choose their own.
- Email addresses are unique across Biththi. Usernames are unique within your organization.
- Email and username can't be changed after the user is created.
- If the verification email fails, the user list lets you send it again.
Remove access
- Deactivate a user from Settings > Users. They're signed out at once and can't sign in.
- Their records and history are kept, and they stay in the list marked inactive.
- Only the primary admin can reactivate them.
Hand over ownership
The primary admin can make another active admin the primary admin from Settings > Users. They become the owner and you become an admin.
