Invoices

›How do I change a saved invoice?

A saved invoice can't be edited, so your numbering and GST records stay intact. Issue a credit note for the difference, and a new invoice if needed.

›Why can't I pick my customer on an invoice?

Invoices only take customers from your customer list. Add the customer first, then pick them.

›Why is Print blocked?

Printing needs your business name, address and phone number. Add them in Settings > Business.

›Why does my invoice charge IGST instead of CGST and SGST?

Its place of supply is a different state from the one in your GSTIN. Check the place of supply on the invoice and the customer's address. See GST and place of supply.

›Why has my invoice no GST at all?

Without a GSTIN in Settings > Business, invoices are issued as a Bill of Supply with no tax.

›My 26th invoice won't save.

Starter allows 25 saved invoices in total. Your invoice is still there as you left it; nothing was saved and no number was used. Move to Growth for unlimited invoices: see Plans.

›Why can't I delete a saved invoice?

Deleting saved invoices is off unless an admin turns it on in Settings > Invoice. An invoice with payments or credit notes can never be deleted.

›Copy as PNG doesn't work.

Copying an image needs a secure (https) connection and a browser that allows it. Use Download as PNG instead.

›My PDF shows the page address at the top and bottom.

In the print dialog, turn off Headers and footers.

Payments and customers

›A customer paid before I made the invoice.

Record the payment with no invoice. It is kept as an advance; apply it when you save their invoice. See Advances.

›A customer returned goods.

Open the invoice, choose Issue credit note, pick Sales return, enter the quantities and leave Put returned items back in stock ticked.

›How do I send a customer what they owe?

Open the customer and choose Statement, pick the period and choose Save as PDF.

›Why can't I delete a customer?

Customers with invoices, estimates or payments can't be deleted, so your records stay complete. Biththi tells you how many documents are in the way.

Items and stock

›Stock didn't change after I saved an invoice.

Only lines picked from the catalog for a product change stock. Typed one-off lines, services, drafts and estimates don't.

›Biththi won't save because of stock.

Saving would take a product's stock below zero. Record the purchase bill for the goods first, or correct the stock on the item.

›I have hundreds of items or customers to add.

Import them from a spreadsheet: see Import and export items and Import and export customers.

›The import says a column is missing.

The first row of the file must hold the column headings. Start from Download template, and save the file as CSV, not as an Excel workbook.

›The HSN code is rejected.

On an item, a product's HSN must be 4, 6 or 8 digits and a service's SAC 6 digits. Leave it empty if you don't have it.

Account and setup

›I chose the wrong business type.

It can't be changed in the app, because it decides what your records hold. Contact support and we'll help.

›I can't sign in.

After several failed attempts, sign-in is blocked for a while. Wait about 15 minutes, or use Forgot password. If your account was deactivated, ask your admin.

›I can't see some Settings tabs.

Only admins see Business, Invoice, Estimate and Users. Users see General.

›Where are the reports for my accountant?

In Reports: open All reports and download the sales register, GST reports and others as CSV or PDF.

›The dashboard figure differs from last month's total.

While a period is still running, Biththi compares it with the same number of days of the period before, not the whole period.
