Set up your business
The settings to fill in before your first invoice: business details, payment details, invoice defaults, units and your team.
Business details
- Step 1: Open Settings (the gear at the top right) and choose Business.
- Step 2: Enter your business name, address and phone number. These three are needed before you can print or share any invoice.
- Step 3: Add your GST registration (GSTIN) if you have one. Without it, your invoices are issued as a Bill of Supply with no tax.
- Step 4: Add your email, website and logo if you like. The logo prints at the top of invoices and estimates.
- Step 5: Choose Save Settings.
Tip: Your GSTIN's first two digits are your state code. Biththi compares it with each invoice's place of supply to decide between CGST + SGST and IGST.
Payment details and signature
- In Settings > Business, add your bank account name, number and IFSC, and your UPI ID. They print on invoices so customers know where to pay.
- With a UPI ID, unpaid and part-paid invoices carry a UPI QR code for the balance due.
- Upload a signature image to print it above Authorised Signatory. Without one, the invoice leaves space to sign.
Invoice defaults
In Settings > Invoice, set what every new invoice starts with:
- Default payment terms, which set the due date.
- Default GST rate for new lines.
- Whether totals round to the nearest rupee.
- Whether printed invoices show the Paid, Part Paid or Payment Pending stamp (Print the payment status stamp).
- Default customer notes and terms and conditions.
- Whether saved invoices may be deleted (off by default).
Settings > Estimate has the same notes and terms for estimates, and whether sent, accepted or declined estimates may be deleted.
Units
Settings > General lists the units your items use, such as nos, kg or g. Drag them into the order you want in drop-downs, rename the built-in ones, or add your own. Renaming a unit keeps existing records linked to it.
Your team
Add the people who work with you in Settings > Users. See Users and roles.
